Hospital test waiting times cut in Nottingham

No patients had to wait for longer than six weeks to receive tests from Nottingham's hospital trust after being referred by their doctor, according to new statistics for July.
The Nottingham Evening Post reports that the local health authority has made significant progress in this area in the last two years, with the monthly figure of zero comparing to 1,000 recorded during the latter part of 2007.
And officials suggest that they will be able to maintain this standard in the future, stating: "Robust systems are in place to sustain this excellent level of performance and to achieve no breaches for August and the following months."
Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust has made progress in a number of other areas in recent years, notably in dealing with superbugs.
In 2008-09, it had 52 per cent fewer cases of MRSA and 48 per cent fewer C difficile than in the previous 12 months.
