Speech therapists start work at new medical centre

A number of people with speech therapy jobs have commenced work at a new medical centre in Scotland.
Recently, Nicola Sturgeon MSP, cabinet secretary for health and wellbeing and deputy first minister, formally opened Brooksby House.
As well as speech therapy services, the facility offers podiatry, physiotherapy and occupational therapy.
Commenting on the centre, which is the result of a partnership between North Ayrshire council and NHS Ayrshire & Arran, Ms Sturgeon said: "With the opening of Brooksby Medical and Resource Centre, the people of Largs have a one-stop-shop they can truly be proud of and which I am sure will serve them well for years to come."
She added that the offering is a "great example" of the benefits of joint working and it will make it easier for local people to access the services they require.
Headquartered in Kilmarnock, NHS Ayrshire & Arran has a number of responsibilities, including health improvement and the provision of acute and primary services.
