NHS "is a blessing for all"

A number of demonstrators gathered outside the US Embassy in London yesterday to show their support for the National Health Service.
Led by pensioner Bruce Kent, who claims his own life was saved by the NHS, a crowd of 50 waved banners proclaiming that Britain's health system is a "blessing for all", the Press Association reports.
"I am a very grateful recipient of the NHS. I had an operation the cost of which would probably have put me out on the streets if I'd had to pay for it," Mr Kent said.
In news that may be of interest to those searching for hospital doctor jobs, he added that Britons have become so used to the NHS that they do not appreciate it enough.
Meanwhile, it was reported earlier this week that the number of people dying from hospital super bugs such as MRSA and Clostridium difficile fell between 2007 and 2008.
