Radiographer praises new clinic

A radiographer has spoken out in praise of a new medical centre in Cheltenham.
Costing £5.3 million, the clinic will specialise in breast cancer and is described by the Gloucestershire Echo as a "one-stop shop" for patients who need screening and clinical services.
Although construction work has been completed, the centre still has to be fitted out.
Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust hopes to open the facility in October.
Commenting on the development, Peter Sharpe, a radiographer who has taken over from outgoing appeal fund chief executive Howard Crooks, said: "This is going to transform the service in the county.
"The clinic will be a friendly place far removed from a typical hospital environment."
He added that the project has been a challenge but those involved are "very pleased" with the centre and what it will mean for local patients.
Established in July 2004, Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides healthcare services from a number of premises, including the Cheltenham General, Delancey and Gloucestershire Royal hospitals.
