Cardiac appeal gets boost

An appeal to raise money towards the creation of a new cardiac rehabilitation room at a UK hospital recently received a boost.
Around 300 people gathered in the centre of Kettering at the weekend to participate in an annual fun run, the Northamptonshire Evening Telegraph reports.
In total, the Cardiac Care Appeal hopes to raise £100,000 so that the new facility can be created at Kettering General Hospital, which provides services to around 300,000 people in north Northamptonshire.
Fundraiser for the medical centre Clare Coltman said: "The fun run was absolutely brilliant."
She added: "We're not sure yet how much has been raised, but we know of one lady who alone has raised £600.
"We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has supported us."
Run by the Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, the hospital has a range of facilities, including a £4.7 million cardiac centre.
