Phlebotomists and radiographers begin work in new department

People with phlebotomy and radiography jobs at hospital in Devon have begun working in a new outpatient department.
Costing £2 million, the new section of the North Devon District Hospital has been designed to improve outpatient services, the North Devon Gazette & Advertiser reports.
Earlier this month, the development was opened for use by patients.
Sharon Bate, general manager for patient access, said: "Getting the environment right and working closely with all services that support outpatients, such as x-ray, blood testing and so on, means we can work better together to ensure patients receive an efficient and caring service from us."
She added that both staff and patients had helped with the design of the department and the trust is "very pleased" with the facility.
The refurbishment is part of broader undertaking by Devon Primary Care Trust to reduce waiting times in the future for patients living in the area.
Established in October 2006, Devon Primary Care Trust provides a range of medical services to people living in the surrounding area.
