Refer an Podiatrist
Thursday 23rd July 2009
A podiatrist from Haddenham has been forced to move premises in order to keep practicing.
Anne Ricketts was seeing patients at Thame Community Hospital, which houses 12 inpatient beds on the ground floor.
However, the trust that operates the centre reviewed its prices for rooms, saying they needed to be brought in line with other facilities, Thame Today reports.
This left Ms Ricketts having to pay £400-a-day rental charges, which she says she could not afford.
The medical professional therefore decided to move her business to her home.
She said that this may have an impact on her disabled patients, who could struggle to access the new treatment location.
Sarah McDermot, whose mother is disabled and a patient of Ms Ricketts, said: "Although Anne has her own place to do her work there's no disabled access and mum can't drive herself either, so she becomes more dependent on other people."
