Number of phlebotomists to increase in UK medical centre

The number of phlebotomists working at a medical centre in Dovercourt is to increase.
Fryatt Hospital is employing additional personnel because it was stretched by patient demand for its services.
According to a report in the Harwich and Manningtree Standard, people were being turned away from sessions due to the overstretch and patients had complained over the length of queues, which built up because there was only one person taking blood tests.
In a new development, managers at the hospital have revealed that new phlebotomists are to be drafted in to ease the pressure.
NHS North East Essex spokesman Peter Richardson said: "We have got funding to have a permanent second person at Harwich.
"That may take a little while as we have to recruit. In the meantime, wherever possible we have two people there."
Established in 2006, NHS North East Essex provides services for around 315,000 people and it covers an area of approximately 255 square miles.
