Pharmacist named among best in the country

A pharmacist has been named among the best operating in the UK.
Mike Maguire, who works in Marton Pharmacy, was bestowed with the title of Community Pharmacist of the Year at the Chemist and Druggist Awards, GazetteLive reports.
The 43-year-old travelled to London to pick up the award.
Commenting on the ceremony, he said: "There was this big drum roll and they said my name and all our table went wild."
The medical professional added: "It feels fantastic to be named Community Pharmacist of the Year."
Meanwhile, Ann O'Hanlon, chairman for NHS Middlesbrough, said that Mr Maguire's "innovative approach" to community health is an example of how the services delivered by pharmacists can be developed beyond the traditional role of dispensing drugs.
Recently, the Guardian Series reported that a pharmacy in Waltham Forest is to stock and dispense anti-swine flu medications.
Its identity was not revealed but patients, relatives and carers will be told where it is if they need to collect the drug.
