Podiatrists and phlebotomists may work in new medical centre

Plans for a new medical centre include provisions for podiatry and phlebotomy services.
Set to cost £10 million, the facility will be completed by early summer 2011 if officials give it the go-ahead, Stoke and Staffordshire paper the Sentinel reports.
The centre would be located in Biddulph and would be open between 08:00 GMT and 20:00 GMT.
Commenting on the proposed new development, Hilary Jackson from Staffordshire county council's library management team said: "There will be shared meeting spaces and outside space we can use."
Meanwhile, Muriel Sanders, a resident from Knypersley, added: "I'm happy with it. It will be better for the doctors to all be on one site and it's good that it's in the town centre, it will be much more convenient."
The centre would be run by NHS North Staffordshire, which provides health services for a population of around 210,000 and employs more than 1,200 staff members.
