People with speech and language therapy jobs in York will be among those to receive a funding boost from the government.
A total of £877,000 is being invested into an initiative which is designed to help disabled children and young people in the city, local newspaper the Press reports.
As well as speech therapy, the money will go towards physiotherapy, occupational therapy and a range of other services.
The scheme will bring together existing provisions to create a "one stop shop" at Applefields Special School.
It will involved specialist staff working closely with educational experts.
Earlier this month, it was revealed that speech therapy services for children in Wiltshire are also set to receive a boost.
The Department of Health is to provide an additional £15,000 which will partly fund the employment of a project manager working with both NHS Wiltshire and Wiltshire council who will help to coordinate efforts to improve its offerings to patients.
