New medical jobs may be created in Shropshire with health bosses meeting recently to discuss the issue.
Managers from Shropshire Primary Care Trust got together to review priorities for the organisation and to discuss which of the county's medical centres require the most additional funding, the Whitchurch Herald reports.
According to the publication, a site for a new facility was secured in the Ellesmere area last year and now money is required to construct the centre.
Ellesmere mayor Brian Knight said: "Ellesmere is growing fast, there are more houses coming and more families who will need medical care.
"We need it now, not tomorrow - the land is ready and we want to see some bricks and mortar there."
Recently, it emerged that a new medical centre is set to be built in Thurrock.
Costing £53 million, the facility will provide a range of services, such as phlebotomy, endoscopy and rehabilitation services.
