New medical centre to offer phlebotomy services

A new medical centre is to provide a range of services, including phlebotomy.
Set to be located in Thurrock, the facility will cost in the region of £53 million.
Recently, a public consultation concerning the development was launched to give local people the chance to provide their views on which clinical services they would like to see included.
As well as phlebotomy, the medical centre is to offer radiography, endoscopy and rehabilitation care, among other things.
Commenting on the input from patients, NHS South West Essex said: "This consultation will reach a wide cross-section of the community through a range of public engagement events, including focus groups, the internet, interactive briefing workshops and public exhibitions."
It is to run until September 14th and a report will subsequently be prepared.
Established in October 2006, NHS South West Essex serves a population of over 420,000 and employs nearly 1,500 people, two-thirds of whom are clinical staff.
