Good hygiene recorded at UK hospital

A hospital has remained clear of superbugs for a year, it has been revealed.
Over the past 12 months, Clitheroe Community Hospital did not register a single case of MRSA or Clostridium difficile.
Accrington Victoria Hospital also recorded zero superbug infections during the period.
According to local health managers, the success is a result of high levels of hygiene awareness and good infection control measures.
However, there were two isolated incidents of diahorrea and vomiting on the wards, which were attributed to Norovirus.
Commenting on the issue, NHS East Lancashire's public health director Dr Ellis Friedman said: "The situation was monitored daily with both the commissioning and provider arms of the PCT being kept aware.
"Following the outbreak, a report was prepared on the control of the outbreak, with actions and recommendations to be undertaken."
Established on October 1st 2006, NHS East Lancashire serves around 386,000 people living in the area.
