Stars to appear at cardiac screening

Celebrities are set to make an appearance at a Cardiac Risk in the Young (Cry) screening event this weekend, it has emerged.
The Cry unit, set up at Morrisons on Mariners Way in Preston, will screen people between the ages of 14 and 35, according to the Lancashire Evening Post.
Accompanying the youngsters will be Preston North End goalkeeper Andrew Lonegran and Coronation Street star Scott Wright.
Some 200 people are expected to be tested over the two days, from Saturday May 30th, the newspaper reports.
A previous screening session was paid for by the family of deceased Preston Grasshoppers rugby player Stevie Wiggins. The family raised £10,000 in order to screen over 100 young people.
In related news, an appeal was launched in Dundee recently in order to raise £100,000 to fund research into the cause of heart attacks in healthy young people.
Silent Ischaemia can affect people with no history of heart disease and is the cause of around 40 to 50 per cent of sudden cardiac deaths, the Press and Journal asserts.
