New health centre to offer podiatry services

A new health centre offering a range of services, including podiatry, is to open in Stockton.
The facility, which is due to be completed in 2013, is to cost around £7 million and it will act as a mini community hospital, local paper the Evening Gazette reports.
Health bosses at NHS Stockton are currently finalising the plans.
Ali Wilson, director of health systems and estates management at the organisation, said the centre will be open to patients seven days a week and it will house consultation rooms and possibly a minor injuries unit.
She also claimed that the site planned for the facility is ideal because it is easily accessible by bus, car and train.
Recently, NHS Berkshire East and Bracknell Forest council reached an agreement over plans for the site of a new medical centre, which is planned to be open for service during the course of 2011, Get Bracknell reported.
