Agreement for site of new flagship medical centre reached

Plans for the site of a new medical centre in England were recently agreed up by the local authority and an NHS trust.
Recently, NHS Berkshire East and Bracknell Forest council reached a consensus on the location of facility, which is planned to open in 2011, Get Bracknell reports.
The centre has been described by partners involved in its development as fit for the 21st century and it will contain GP surgeries and cancer care facilities, among other things.
Commenting on the stage of planning, Sally Kemp, chairman of NHS Berkshire East, said: "We can now see the site, the preferred partner to build it and the rough shape of the building."
She added that she considers the proposed centre to be a "massive step forward" for Bracknell.
Meanwhile, councillor Dale Birch, Bracknell Forest's executive member for health, said the building will be "iconic".
Recently, it was revealed that a new health centre is to open in Colchester, the East Anglian Daily Times reported.
The facility will provide a range of services, including phlebotomy.
