An NHS trust has been instructed to improve its hygiene standards following a recent inspection.
Conducted by the Healthcare Commission, the examination revealed that Nottinghamshire Healthcare Trust breached the government's hygiene code on six occasions, This is Nottingham reports.
The organisation is responsible for a number of medical centres, including Rampton Hospital, Arnold Lodge, the Well Road Centre and Wathwood Hospital.
In its report, the Healthcare Commission noted "dust and dirt on the floors" and "dirty and mouldy grouting and tiles" in bathroom facilities.
Responding to the findings, Rachel Munton, executive director of nursing and allied health professionals, said the trust was committed to providing "the best possible standards of care".
However, she added: "The unannounced visit provided some hard evidence of where we were not meeting those high standards and we have taken immediate steps to address the issues identified."
Work will continue to make sure that the trust improves its hygiene standards, she claimed.
