New medical centre to be created

Plans for a new medical centre to be created in Scartho were recently given the green light by planners.
The development, which is to house a number of GP surgeries and a pharmacy, is to cost £4.5 million, the Grimsby Telegraph reports.
Initially, the facility will cater for 10,000 patients, although this is expected to increase to 15,000.
Commenting on the offering, Dr Paul Twomey, one of the GPs who will be based in the centre, said: "We are delighted we are going to get to create a community resource for the area."
Meanwhile, local councillor John Colebrook also welcomed the development, although he expressed concerns over potential parking problems.
Recently, plans for the creation of a new medical centre in Hanley were submitted.
Predicted to cost £1.3 million, the facility would incorporate a walk-in centre for shoppers and office workers and it would offer minor injury treatments and lifestyle checks, among other things.
