Colour-coded uniforms to arrive in Welsh hospitals

Hospital nurses in Wales are to wear new colour-coded uniforms in a bid to help patients identify senior staff members.
From October this year, such medical workers will replace their current starched white outfits with loose-fitting tops and trousers in a variety of colours.
Clinical specialists will don royal blue attire, while staff nurses will wear sky blue scrubs and ward sisters will be identifiable in navy blue.
As well as enabling patients to see who is in charge in wards, the new uniforms are a response to concerns over nurses wearing their work clothes outside of work.
Chief nursing officer Rosemary Kennedy said: "The research isn't strong at all on that, but there's a perception.
"So we wanted to make a uniform that was very clearly identifiable to NHS Wales."
Recently, Judy Ames, lead infection control nurse at NHS Norfolk, stated that she was among the people concerned over the hygiene risks of nurses wearing their uniforms outside of hospitals.
