Medical centre may be established as part of regeneration plan

As part of a project to regenerate Normanton, a new medical centre may be created.
According to the Derby Evening Telegraph, a centre costing over £10 million is being planned for the site of an old hotel pub.
The local council said that so far, the proposals are at "vision" stage. However, negotiations are underway.
Normanton councillor Amar Nath said: "I see the development of a health centre in Normanton as very likely. There has been some in-depth discussion and there is a lot of enthusiasm for the project."
He added that around 25,000 to 35,000 people stand to benefit from the possible addition to the local community.
Recently, the Harrow Times reported that a new medical centre offering a range of services - including podiatry - is to open in Harrow in May.
The facility was described by practice leader Dr Amol Kelshiker as "what a general practice should be like in 2009".
