Audiologists involved in charity fundraising initiative

Audiologists have been involved a scheme to help raise funds for charity.
A number of Specsavers stores are offering to make donations to good causes for each free hearing test they perform.
In order to promote the free hearing tests, the business is giving away £5 to the charity Hearing Dogs for Deaf People for every examination performed this month.
Among the Specsavers taking part in the initiative are the ones in Truro and Peterborough.
Commenting on the scheme, hearing aid audiologist Richard Bunce said: "While times are tight, it is often charities who are the first to suffer. We're glad to give something back to a very worthwhile cause and offer a vital service for free at the same time."
He added that annual hearing tests for the over 60s are "extremely important", as loss of hearing can be isolating.
Last month, audiologists at the Royal Berkshire Hospital were offering patients the chance to buy discreet hearing aids which tuck into the ear at reduced prices, the Reading Evening Post reported.
