New X-ray department opens

A new X-ray department has been opened following a refurbishment at Skegness Hospital.
The facilities, which were part of a £100,000 revamp, were unveiled last week, the Skegness Standard reports.
A joint project coordinated by Lincolnshire NHS and the United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust, saw £45,000 spent on the radiography equipment itself, while £25,000 went towards building works and the same amount was spent on refurbishing the floor and corridors around the department.
Radiology services manager at the trust Nigel Allen said the changes will improve the working environment and conditions for patients and staff.
He commented: "We have spent almost ten years working towards improving the facilities and replacing equipment.
"As far as X-ray is concerned, we can be more reliant on it."
Mr Allen added that the additional equipment will enable radiographers to improve their diagnoses of patients.
Established in April 2000, United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust employs around 7,800 people.
