Medical jobs to be created in Essex

A new multi-purpose polyclinic is to be constructed after plans were given the green light.
The centre will be located on the former hospital site at Harold Wood in Romford, Essex, the Romford Recorder reports.
In news which may be of particular relevance to phlebotomists, the new facility will house a blood clinic.
It will also contain a pharmacy, minor injuries unit and two GP surgeries, among other things.
The development of the health centre, which is intended as a means of dealing with the shortfall of such facilities in the area, will lead to the creation of ten full-time and 80 part-time jobs.
Plans for the polyclinic were supported by councillor Steven Kelly, who is also cabinet member for social care.
The politician was at the Regulatory Services Committee meeting earlier this month when the go-ahead was given to the project. The proposals received unanimous approval by councillors who attended.
