Refer an Cardiac Physiologist

A new tablet dubbed the "magic pill" could result in a reduction in the number of heart attacks and strokes experienced by patients, it has been claimed.
According to a team of scientists, the treatment could halve the number of cardiovascular problems in adults with at least one risk factor, such as obesity or raised blood pressure.
In addition, if given to people with a higher risk, it could bring down rates of heart attacks and strokes by 75 per cent, the researchers claimed.
Their findings were based on tests conducted on 2,000 people aged between 45 and 80 living in India.
The pill contains a mixture of statin, aspirin and blood pressure-lowering drugs, cardiac physiologists may be interested to note.
A spokesperson from the British Heart Foundation, which claims to invest over £137 a minute in research, said: "The results suggest that the polypill has the potential to reduce the incidence of cardiovascular disease."
