Podiatrists begin work in new health centre

A range of medical professionals, including podiatrists, have begun work at a newly-opened health centre.
During an official ceremony recently, Karen Knapton, chairman of NHS
East Riding of Yorkshire, declared the facility open to the public.
The centre took a year to construct and will provide healthcare services to more than 15,000 people in the surrounding area.
As well as podiatry, it features a dentistry department and will be home to district nursing services.
Commenting on the new facility, Ms Knapton said: "I have taken a keen interest throughout the Goole Health Centre project and I am delighted to see the superb end result."
She added that the people of Goole will now have access to co-ordinated and enhanced healthcare services.
Created in October 2008, NHS East Riding of Yorkshire provides services to a population of around 325,000. It replaced the former East Yorkshire and Yorkshire Wolds and Coast primary care trusts.
