Work begins on new medical centre

New medical jobs are to become available in Stenhousemuir thanks to the creation of a new health centre.
Work has begun on the facility, which is set to cost £7 million and is part of a regeneration project for the town, the BBC reports.
Due to be completed in March 2010, the development was described by Dan Macdonald, chief executive of Macdonald Estates - the firm which is overseeing the work - as "the final piece of the jigsaw".
He added: "The regeneration of Stenhousemuir provides a blueprint for other town centres in Scotland to follow."
The facility will house a range of things, including four GP practices.
Meanwhile, the North-West Evening Mail recently reported that planning permission is being sought for the creation of a new pharmacy and a medical surgery in Roose.
If the centre is built, it will serve a population of around 18,000 in the local area.
