Pharmacists may be recruited in the north-west if plans to construct a new medical centre go ahead.
Planning permission is being sought for a new development in Roose which would include a pharmacy and a medical surgery, the North-West Evening Mail reports.
Dr Geoff Jolliffe of Risedale Surgery, who is helping with the proposals, said the project is likely to cost millions of pounds.
He stated: "Obviously if outline planning permission is granted, then we will be looking to get a more detailed idea of the cost, but it is definitely going to be in the millions."
The new complex, which would comprise a number of services, would serve around 18,000 local people.
Recently, the Shropshire Star reported that a new health centre may be created in Ellesmere.
Members of the district council recently backed proposals to purchase land upon which the facility could be constructed should planning permission be granted.
