Hospital joins cardiac campaign

The Conquest Hospital has voiced its support of the Red for Heart campaign by raising funds for the British Heart Foundation, the Rye and Battle Observer has reported.
Food was sold and a patient sweepstake competition was run at the hospital in a bid to generate cash.
The event was held as part of National Heart Month and was supported by the hospital's cardiology department and its medical wards.
In addition, patients in the Cardiac Rehabilitation Unit sported red clothing in support of the campaign during recent cardiac rehab classes at the facility.
According to figures compiled by the British Heart Foundation, more than 400 of the group's heart nurses currently care for patients in the UK.
The foundation also claims to invest an average of £137 per minute on research into heart health.
It currently funds approximately 1,200 research projects which investigate the causes of heart disease, as well as improved treatments and surgical techniques.
