New cardiac services available in Stamford

People with cardiac physiology jobs are providing a new service to patients in Stamford, it has emerged.
Stamford Hospital - which is run by Peterborough and Stamford NHS Trust - now provides the offering, meaning local people are provided with care closer to their homes, the Rutland and Stamford Mercury reports.
It has launched a new rehabilitation service, which is divided into four phases, including specialist support, healthy lifestyle advice and exercise.
Dr Ruth Livingstone, chairman of the Welland cluster of GPs, commented: "The local GPs are very keen to have this service provided on the site of Stamford Hospital.
"We are pleased to have secured the funding to move the service here and to improve this service for our patients."
She added that it is a "great service" for people recovering from heart attacks and has been expanded so that it includes people who suffer from angina.
