Hospital jobs saved in Abergele

Plans to shut a hospital in Wales have been put on hold, it has emerged.
In news that may be welcomed by people with jobs at the medical centre, Abergele Hospital is no longer to be closed, a minister has revealed.
According to reports in News Wales, health minister Edwina Hart has written to members of the Welsh Assembly to confirm that original proposals have been shelved.
She said that, although plans to move orthopaedic surgery services from Abergele will go ahead, other options will now be considered for the medical centre.
For example, it may be used for the provision of rehabilitation, outpatient surgery and chronic pain management services.
Clwyd West Assembly member Darren Millar said: "Whilst welcome, this news has been a very long time coming - particularly for the hard-working staff at Abergele hospital who have had to put up with almost three years since it was threatened with closure."
The medical centre is located on Llanfair Road in Abegele.
