Radiographer welcomes new equipment

A UK radiographer has welcomed the installation of new equipment in his medical centre.
Stuart Clark works at Halton Hospital, which is located in the north-west town of Runcorn and is run by Warrington and Halton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
His department recently had a new computer tomography scanner fitted, the Runcorn and Widnes Weekly News reports.
According to the publication, the device is able to scan four times faster than the machine it replaced and it also produces images of a higher quality.
Mr Clark, who is the superintendent radiographer at the hospital, said: "This brand new, state of the art scanner is extremely versatile.
"With one patient we can be viewing the tiny structures of the inner ear and then the next patient we are able to do a whole body scan."
He added that the device allows medical workers at the medical centre to scan an extra 20-plus patients per week.
