Investments to be made in cardiac health

A UK charity is to put money into reducing heart problems in an area of Scotland.
The British Heart Foundation (BHF) - which claims to invest more than £137 a minute on cardiac research - has earmarked £1.5 million to be spent on tackling such problems in Dundee.
Figures cited by the organisation suggest that a man from the city is 1.5 times more likely to die young from heart disease than one based a few miles away in Angus, people with cardiac jobs may be interested to hear.
In total, the BHF is to plough £9 million into cardiac health projects across the UK, the BBC reports.
Meanwhile, people in Dundee will be invited in for health checks at an earlier age as part of the Hearty Lives Dundee project.
Marjory Burns, director of BHF Scotland, said: "Hearty Lives Dundee aims to make it easier for the city's residents to make healthier choices as part of their everyday lives."
