Phlebotomists to relocate to new health centre

A number of people with phlebotomy jobs in St Helens are to move under plans for the construction of a new health centre.
According to the St Helens Star, work has begun on the building of the £10m Lowe House Health Care Resource Centre.
The phlebotomists - along with GPs, respiratory care providers and other healthcare workers, among other people - are to relocate as three medical practices transfer to the new facility.
Situated on the corner of Oxford Street and Crab Street, the centre will house four GP practices and a variety of other healthcare facilities.
Building work could be completed by January 2010.
Meanwhile, another new medical centre is to be created in Great Yarmouth after the local authority approved the plans, Hospital Development magazine reported.
Commenting on the development, Barry Stone, Great Yarmouth district council leader, said: "There is an identified need for a new facility and the fact it is going to be a walk-in clinic should make it a lot easier for people to use when they need it."
