NHS Sheffield to broaden occupational therapy services to patients

Patients living in Sheffield who suffer from long-term neurological conditions are to receive fairer treatment, it has been claimed.
According to NHS Sheffield, such patients are to benefit from a £250,000 investment that is intended to plug gaps in services which had meant that people were receiving differing qualities of treatment depending on where they lived.
The trust says the changes will result in significantly improved services, the Yorkshire Post reports.
Occupational therapists will be on hand for everyone who needs them, along with physiotherapists and speech and language therapists.
"We have very high levels of specialism and expertise available for neurological patients in the city and needed to make sure these were available for everyone, regardless of where they live in the city," said Maggie Campbell, NHS Sheffield's spokeswoman on neurological conditions.
Recently, the St Elizabeth Hospice in Ipswich revealed it had added new occupational therapy services as part of a £1 million investment.
