During a recent visit to a UK health centre, His Royal Highness the Duke of Kent received a briefing by a radiologist.
The royal was provided with information on imaging equipment that was recently installed at the King Edward VII's Hospital Sister Agnes - which houses a diagnostic imaging equipment department, as well a pharmacy and a physiotherapy department.
As well as benefiting from new Agfa HealthCare IMPAX RIS and PACS solutions, the medical centre has "gone live" with two CR 35-X Digitizers plus NX workstations, Hospital IT Europe reports.
Meanwhile, it was already using an Agfa HealthCare solution, which enables consultants on the wards and in consulting rooms to place orders electronically for imaging procedures.
During the Duke's visit, Dr Paul Butler, director of imaging at the hospital, commented: "The department is well placed to offer a bespoke service both to our consultants and to referring general practitioners, together with their patients."
