Medical worker wins award

A doctor from London has received an award during a recent ceremony, it has been revealed.
According to reports in OnMedica, Dr Alexandra Strachan of the North Road Surgery won the doctors' category of the NHS Champions Awards.
She was nominated for the accolade by one of her patient's carers, who praised the level of care she gave.
The individual said: "As a newly qualified doctor myself I found her an inspiration and a role model of the sort of doctor I want to become."
She went on to describe Dr Strachan as a "real inspiration".
Also in the limelight at the awards ceremony was a blind physiotherapist who was commended for her work championing the needs of her patients with learning disabilities.
Recently, radiographer Robert Law was awarded with honorary membership by the Royal College of Radiologists for his contribution to the field, Bristol publication the Evening Post reported.
