Radiographers benefit from installation of new equipment

People with radiography jobs in Kingston Hospital, along with their patients, are benefiting from the installation of new equipment, it has been revealed.
The medical centre - which serves a population of around 320,000 and is situated 12 miles from London - recently received an Artis zee MP interventional imaging system from Siemens Healthcare.
It will be primarily used for peripheral angiography and angioplasty procedures, Healthcare Equipment and Supplies reports.
However, it can also be used for testicular vein and uterine artery embolisation, as well as vertebroplasty, renal and hepatobiliary work.
Superintendent radiographer at Kingston Hospital Amanda Kenevin said: "The system provides images of a very high standard incredibly quickly, while exposing the patient to significantly less radiation."
She added that the technology, which has sped up the time it takes for tests to take place, has proved to be very user friendly and it is "just what a radiographer requires" in terms of its post processing capabilities.
