Medical jobs to be created in Peterborough

A number of medical jobs are to be created in Peterborough thanks to the establishment of a new health centre, it has emerged.
NHS Peterborough - which serves a population of around 170,000 - has signed a contract with 3Well Medical which will see the construction of the facility.
Subject to planning consent, the centre is expected to be completed by April 2010, Peterborough Today reports.
"Patients tell us they want more convenience and choice from the service they receive in their area - for instance, to be able to see a doctor in the evening, or at weekends and when they are away," stated chief executive of NHS Peterborough Angela Bailey.
Recently, it emerged that podiatrists are to among the medical professionals set to benefit from the construction of two new surgeries in Wivenhoe and West Mersea.
According to the East Anglian Daily Times, the facilities are due to completed by October 2010.
