Waiting times cut in Wales

Medical staff in Wales have been praised for getting closer to target waiting times to be met in a year.
The South Wales Argus reports that the waiting time for a diagnostic test had been cut by 70 per cent in the year to the end of October, those with UK medical jobs may be interested to read.
Across the country, 3,495 patients waited for longer than eight weeks for a diagnostic test at the end of October.
At the same time in 2007, the figure was 11,500.
Similarly, 6,000 patients waited longer than 14 weeks in therapies in October 2007, a figure that had gone to 1,240 a year later.
Edwina Hart, Welsh Assembly health minister, paid tribute to the medical staff and stated: "Quicker access to diagnosis will reduce patient anxiety and the sooner treatment can start, the better the outcome for the patient."
Ms Hart has also announced that money will be given to a North Wales service for people suffering from mental health problems, the Daily Post reported.
The cash will be provided until the end of February to Cam Ymlaen, which is based in Llandudno.
