Radiologists get upgraded facilities

A number of people with radiology jobs are to receive an upgrade to their X-ray facilities, health chiefs have said.
Bosses at NHS West Kent, which serves a population of around 655,700 people, have announced they are to install a new machine in Edenbridge Hospital in January to replace the current 25-year-old one.
After the new device is set up, medics will be able to send X-ray images electronically to specialists located in other hospitals who can then give advice, the Kent and Sussex Courier reports.
Currently, patients have to wait for the images taken by radiographers to be sent by post for inspection at the Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead.
NHS West Kent locality manager Dawn Hallam commented: "This is all part of continuing investment in local services in West Kent.
"It will help upgrade the hospital and I hope all residents will appreciate the transformation."
