Audiologists set to benefit from investments in hospital

Audiologists are among the medical professionals set to benefit from investment in a UK hospital.
According to reports in the Reading Evening Post, a total of £34.6 million is to be pumped into the Royal Berkshire Hospital, which is run by the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust.
The cash is being raised by improving efficiency at the medical centre and it will be spent on a variety of things.
Among the targets for the additional investment is a new building for audiology and opthamology, as well as continued use of new theatres and wards.
The chairman of the trust - which employs more than 4,000 staff - announced the plans recently during an annual members' meeting at the Madejski Stadium.
Colin Maclean said: "We plan to spend to make this trust even more successful than it already is, we want to spend in our departments to get them into the top ten in the country and we want to make the Royal Berks the hospital of choice."
