Medical centre to get X-ray upgrade

A UK medical centre is set to receive an upgrade to its X-ray facilities, it has emerged.
In news which may be of particular interest to people with radiology jobs, Stamford Hospital is to benefit from investment of £219,000.
According to Peterborough and Stamford Hospitals NHS Trust, which was established in April 2004, the move will mean that some patients will no longer have to travel as far and waiting times will be cut, the Rutland and Stamford reports.
General manager Mandy Renton commented: "We hope to bring more diagnostic services to Stamford Hospital so some patients, where clinically appropriate, will not have to travel into Peterborough."
The last time that the two X-ray rooms were fully upgraded was in 1990, although computerised radiography equipment was installed four years ago.
Managers at the hospital aim to start work on one of the rooms before April 2009, with the other room to follow.
