Refer an Cardiac Physiologist

A new database has been developed to help scientists get a better understanding of why sudden cardiac death occurs, it has been reported.
The £35,000 recording system, which was designed in line with recommendations from the coronary heart disease national service framework, will catalogue any cases of sudden cardiac death, according to E-Health Insider.
Coronary artery disease is thought to be the main cause of sudden cardiac death among middle-aged and older people, while inherited heart conditions account for the majority of the under-35 sufferers.
National heart disease and stroke director Professor Roger Boyle suggested that the new database should shed more light on the condition, claiming it could provide "invaluable information".
The database was developed using funding from the Department of Health (DoH).
In other coronary news, a report from the National Infarct Angioplasty Project, released this week by the DoH, has declared that primary angioplasties are set to become one of the chief treatment methods for heart attacks.
