Radiographer of the Year announced

A UK health worker has been recognised for her contribution to the NHS in the field of radiography.
Andrea Owen beat off competition from around the country to secure the title of Radiographer of the Year, Medical News Today reports.
Due to be presented with the Society of Radiographers' award at the House of Commons early next month, she is a consultant radiographer at University Hospital of South Manchester Foundation Trust, which provides services for people at Wythenshawe and Withington hospitals.
Ms Owen specialises in the field of gastrointestinal radiography and was chosen for the accolade due to her clinical achievements and her extensive teaching and mentoring, which she has delivered to students from local universities.
Commenting on her achievement, she said: "It was a total surprise to me, but what was really nice was that all my colleagues said it came as no surprise to them! My role is extremely varied and challenging."
