Oxford pharmacists wins top award

An innovative pharmacist from Oxford has won a top award for his customer service and creative website, the Oxford Times has reported.
Pupinder Singh Ghatora, who owns Woodlands Pharmacy, was chosen from more than 5,000 candidates to win the title of Young Pharmacist of the Year.
In particular, the judging panel - which included the chief pharmaceutical officer for England and Wales and the editor-in-chief of Pharmacy Business magazine - praised Mr Ghatora's innovative website, yourEpharmacy.com, which provides pharmacy advice, as well as access to medicines and healthcare.
Another website developed by pharmacists may help to pioneer a national initiative to provide advice for mental health drug users and carers.
Norfolk news site EDP 24 reported earlier this month that the Choice and Medication website has been launched at the House of Commons and will be trialled for a year.
The site was developed in partnership with Steve Bazire, chief pharmacist at Norfolk and Waveney Mental Health Trust and a professor at the University of East Anglia.
If the trial of the site is successful, it could be customised for regional mental health trusts across the UK.
