New hospital 'could create 70 jobs'

Plans for a £25 million hospital and diagnostic centre in Midlothian have been given the green light by planners.
It is though the new facility will create about 70 new hospital jobs and will be complete by 2010, the BBC reported.
Located at Shawfair Park, the hospital is expected to compliment an existing facility in Edinburgh.
Wally Bourdelov, director of Murrayfield Hospital, stated that modern clinical facilities and top-quality clinical treatment will be available at the new site.
"This state-of-the-art hospital will provide major new employment opportunities for people in the area and we have already begun recruiting clinicians and support staff," he said.
Earlier this year, the Scotsman reported that the full 40-acre Shawfair Park development will cost around £100 million to complete and that a number of inquiries have been made from the pharmaceutical and medical sectors to take space on the site.
Shawfair Park is also expected to include a hotel and restaurant when it is complete.
