Work on community hospital 'to go ahead next year'

Work on a community hospital in the south coast county of Hampshire is due to get underway in the new year, it has been revealed.
According to a recent report in the Portsmouth News, Hampshire Primary Care Trust (PCT) has announced it is to begin work on the Fareham Community Hospital in January.
Among the services to be offered by the clinic are outpatients departments in phlebotomy and podiatry and a catchment area of around 109,000 are to benefit from the development.
"I am delighted to be able to progress the new facility for Fareham as it will mean many people who have travelled outside Fareham to acute hospitals will now be able to access those services locally," stated Inger Hebden, director of capital planning at the trust.
Serving around 1.25 million people, Hampshire PCT has an annual budget of approximately £1.58 billion and claims to employ in the region of 3,500 people in a variety of roles.
