Advance made in revalidation scheme for doctors

A new development has occurred in the progress of a government scheme which seeks to ensure that all doctors will receive checks.
A support team has been created to assist with the implementation of the initiative.
Called the NHS Revalidation Support Team, the organisation will provide support and advice, people with UK medical jobs may be interested to hear.
Under the government plans, all doctors, including locum GPs and hospital doctors, will be subject to checks in order to ensure they meet the necessary standards.
"We look forward to working with the new Revalidation Support Team on developing local processes and systems that will meet the needs of the medical profession, employers and patients and welcome their appointment," stated Professor Sir Graeme Catto, president of the General Medical Council (GMC).
Reponsible for registering doctors in the UK, the GMC aims to protect, promote and maintain high standards in the practice of medicine.
