Cleaning products help keep hospital superbug free

A company from the Collyhurst area of Manchester has received a boost after it was revealed that the cleaning products it produces have proved particularly effective against superbugs.
In news which may be relevant to people with sterile services jobs, Byotrol reportedly helped to keep a US hospital free of MRSA and C difficile for two years.
The firm's technology has been praised by James Ballard, the director of infection prevention at Monroe Hospital in Indiana.
He said: "The Byotrol technology has been central to this success and has allowed us to become a hospital that is proactively preventing infection rather than reacting to it once it has occurred."
The cleaning products developed by the UK company are said to continue to kill micro-organisms for days after they have been applied.
Meanwhile, a simple device known as a J Hook which enables medical staff to hang drips from curtain rails has helped to increase hygiene on hospital wards, its inventor John Edwards recently told the Daily Mail.
